Poland may be some way off euro entry

POLAND - Poland will not join the European monetary union earlier than in 2007, believes Krzysztof Jakubiszyn, advisor to the chief of the central bank.

The first technically possible date is 2006, provided that Poland joins the European Union in 2004. According to Jakubiszyn, the final decision for the acceptance of Poland into the system will depend on current member states.
