Mervyn King, the new governor of the Bank of England is a well-known supporter of Aston Villa, the English football club. In fact, until recently King was senior vice-president of the club. But as the headline writers have fun with lines like "King becomes the new ace at the Bank", CentralBankNet notes King went to Wolverhampton Grammar School and grew up in Wolverhampton.
