Bank of France raises growth forecast

The Bank of France raised its forecast for growth in the second and third quarters as June retail sales surged, manufacturers lifted production, and executives' confidence was its highest in more than three years.

The central bank report shows a ``dynamic'' recovery from last year's 0.5 percent growth, the slowest in a decade, said Dominique Barbet, an economist at BNP Paribas in Paris. There's ``a better economic outlook across the board.''
