NBU expected to introduce inflation targeting 2006

The National Bank of Ukraine is expecting to introduce inflation targeting in 2006, according to NBU Acting Governor Arseniy Yatseniuk, speaking to journalists.

The NBU's Acting Governor Arseniy Yatseniuk told journalists, Interfax reported, that in future an inflation target could help avoid this years situation when due to political instability and worries over a notable rise of prices people actively bought foreign currency, which resulted in a rush demand and reduction of the exchange
