Duisenberg to mediate in Dexia investors dispute

Wim Duisenberg, the European Central Bank's former president, has been appointed to mediate in a long-running dispute between Franco-Belgian bank Dexia, and Dutch investors who are suing it for allegedly mis-selling investment products.

The Dutch central bank's appointment of Mr Duisenberg, who stepped down at the ECB last year, could speed up settlement of the long-running dispute that has tainted Dexia's image in Holland, the FT said.
