Five senior Bank Indonesia officials resign

Bank Indonesia issued a press release on Friday saying that acting governor, Anwar Nasution, and some deputy governors would resign because of an ongoing erosion of public confidence in the institution. The Indonesian rupiah immediately plummeted, falling to 9,475 against the dollar at 5.10pm from around 9,350 at noon.
