Australia's Costello silent on RBA chief's future

With Ian Macfarlane's term ending in September, speculation has begun on whether the RBA chief will seek another term. Treasurer Peter Costello was tight lipped on the matter but said the governor had performed very well.

Australian Treasurer Peter Costello Tuesday refused to be drawn on whether the country's central bank governor intends to seek another seven-year term.

Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Ian Macfarlane's first term expires in September.

Costello told
