Bank of England leaves interest rates at 4%

UK - The Bank of England's monetary policy committee on Thursday left its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4 per cent, a 38-year low.

UK economists, who had universally expected the MPC to keep the cost of borrowing steady for another month, said the committee's inaction was largely due to falling share prices and signs that the UK's economic recovery remained fragile.
