Bernanke announces Fed communication enhancements

In a bid to ease lawmakers' concerns over transparency, Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, has said that the central bank will publish several new reports on its lending.

Bernanke also warned Congress on Wednesday that the projected level of government borrowing threatened financial stability and economic growth unless "a strong commitment to fiscal sustainability in the longer term" was shown.

The chairman told lawmakers that the Fed would soon begin publishing a monthly report
