IMF wants Dominican CB bill passed

A delegation of the International Monetary Fund to the Dominican Republic has pushed for the country's congress to pass a bill to recapitalise the central bank with $200m.

Speaking to the Chamber of Deputies and its National Debt Commission recently, the IMF delegation, headed by Andy Wolfe, emphasised the need to pass the bill, according to reports.

The bill must be passed by 30 May if the IMF is to issue the subsequent letter of intent and disburse the funds.
