Brash walks into storm over interest rates

NEW ZEALAND - It did not take the New Zealand opposition's latest recruit - former New Zealand Reserve Bank governor Don Brash - long to learn that the rough and tumble of politics is a different world from the rarefied atmosphere of monetary policy reports The Australian on Wednesday.

On Monday, only four days after resigning as governor, Dr Brash gave his predictions on New Zealand's interest rates, and said the Reserve Bank would put them up next month.
