Bank of Finland Board Member under fire

Today's (March 20) edition of Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat reported that most of the parliamentary supervisors of the Bank of Finland are unsatisfied with the performance of the lone woman on the central bank's board, Sinikka Salo.

The newspaper said five out of the nine supervisors were clearly unsatisfied with Salo, who joined the board last autumn when President Tarja Halonen appointed her, overriding the bank supervisors' nominations of two men. Helsingin Sanomat said that the
