World Bank finds extra board seat for Africa

Sub-Saharan Africa will gain a seat at the Executive Board of the World Bank and developing countries voting power in the bank will be raised to 44% as part of governance reforms approved by the Bank's governing board.

These reforms were initially agreed at the annual meetings in October 2008 and now move to the 185 member countries three-fifths of which, holding 85% of votes, must give their assent for final approval.
