Rates in line with economy: ECB's Tumpel-Gugerell

Euro zone interest rates are in line with economic conditions, European Central Bank Executive Board member Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell said in an interview released on Sunday 25 April.

"In our view, the interest rates in the EU are at a historically low level, which corresponds to economic conditions," she told the Austrian newspaper Der Standard in an interview released ahead of publication in Monday's editions.

Tumpel-Gugerell said the ECB stood by its forecast of a gradual recovery in the euro
