Romanian rates high enough: governor

Mugur Isarescu, the governor of the National Bank of Romania, said on Wednesday that rates were high enough to tackle inflation.

Inflation has climbed from 4%, the central bank's target rate, last June to 8.6% in March. But Isarescu told Reuters, a media agency, that the central bank should not "exaggerate" the problem by hiking rates, already at a three-year high of 9.5%, further. "I didn't see commitment and significant dedication from other countries where inflation has also picked up,"
