Lebanon's Salameh says currency 'stable'

Lebanon's currency is stable and its banks' reserves remain liquid despite the ongoing Israeli bombing campaign, the central bank governor said in an interview with Britain's Financial Times newspaper published Monday 24 July.

Amid concern that banks were not allowing withdrawals of dollars, Riad Salameh said that the U.S. currency was "going to be brought in by sea with international agreement, under U.S. protection."
