Thailand cbank stops offshore investment fund

Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said on Thursday Mach 22 that its planned launch of an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) early this year was delayed, becuase of objections from the central bank.

The planned ETF, aimed at allowing locals to invest abroad, was approved by the Thai cabinet last year.It is seen as a new alternative investment vehicle for Thai investors who have been hurt by bearish Thai stocks in the past few years. The Bank of Thailand (BOT) agreed in principle to
