
Nishimura sees third quarter inflation rise
In a speech in Hakodate on 31 May, Nishimura said, the "consumer price index will show solid gains from the second half of this fiscal year into next fiscal year''. Japan's financial year starts in April.
Nishimura also expressed confidence that labour costs and the consumer price index would rise gradually, saying that "as the virtuous cycle of production, income and spending gradually spreads to different sectors and regions and becomes synchronised in light of progressing structural reform
