Padoa-Schioppa urges haste on EU supervision

Europe must act decisively to enhance its supervisory structures, said Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, Italy's economy and finance minister, on Tuesday.

In a Financial Times column, Padoa-Schioppa said: "Strengthening the supervisory structure for multinational financial institutions means achieving a single European rulebook aimed at ensuring equal treatment, low costs of compliance and the removal of regulatory arbitrage; and an integrated supervision of EU-wide groups."
