BoJ asks for gov't approval to boost its capital

The Bank of Japan said in a statement on Thursday that it is seeking government approval to increase the amount of money it sets aside to boost its capital.

Japan's central bank said it asked for the government's approval to set aside more money to boost its capital, a move analysts said may prepare the bank to buy more assets which have possible investment losses.
