Mauritanian govt reshuffled, new cbank governor

The Mauritanian president decreed a partial government reshuffle on Jan. 28, 2001, in which the central bank governor, Mohfoudh Ould Mohamed Ali, was appointed finance minister, replacing Kamara Ali Gueladio, who moved to the transport ministry. According to Mauritanian TV on the night of Jan. 28, the new central bank governor is Sidi El Mokhtar Ould Naji, who had previously been the director of banking supervision.

Mauritanian President Maaouya ould Sid'Ahmed Taya also appointed a new foreign
