J.P. Morgan to include Singapore in GBI Board

SINGAPORE - Singapore will become the 22nd country in J.P. Morgan's Government Bond Index Board (GBI Board) starting on April 2 with a 0.3 percent market capitalisation weighting.

"This will significantly raise the profile of the Singapore Government Securities (SGS) and Singapore dollar bond markets and attract greater international participation," the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the central bank, said on Mar 27, 2001.
