Argentina - IMF send draft intent letter next week

ARGENTINA - The IMF is to send Argentina a draft letter of intent next week to agree terms for aid to the recession-wracked nation , Cabinet Chief Alfredo Atanasof said on Thursday just as aid hopes had appeared to fade.

Argentina sent its own draft letter of intent to the IMF in August but U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill on Wednesday said the proposals did not "reach the full measure of creating a basis (for sustainability)" and the IMF has said work is still needed on most major issues.
