Measured rate rises working- Fed's Bernanke

Federal Reserve Governor Ben Bernanke said Thursday 25 February that with US inflation controlled the Fed can continue with its policy of gradual interest rate increases.

Speaking to reporters after giving a speech to a business forum at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Bernanke expressed confidence the six quarter percentage point rate hikes the US Federal Reserve has made since last June had set a safe course.
