Mishkin to be sworn in after Aug 8 Fed meeting

Federal Reserve Governor-designate Frederic Mishkin will not take office in time to participate in the next Fed policy-setting meeting on 8 August, a Fed spokesman told Reuters on Thursday 27 July.

"Governor-designate Frederic Mishkin plans to be sworn in shortly after Labor Day," a spokesman for the central bank was quoted as saying, referring to the 4 September holiday.

The Senate confirmed Mishkin's nomination on Wednesday.
