Outgoing Slovenia c.banker warns against inflation

SLOVENIA - Slovenia's outgoing central bank governor France Arhar said on Mar 28, 2001 the country should limit the growth of wages to battle high inflation. Arhar will be replaced by former finance minister Mitja Gaspari who was nominated by parliament on Mar 27, 2001 as new central bank chief.

Gaspari had said his main task will be to cut inflation to three or four percent by 2004 at the latest.But Arhar said this goal would be difficult to reach. In February 2001 year-on-year inflation rose to
