Raffarin says ECB should react to euro rise

Speaking on Thursday 26 February, French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin said he shared Gerhard Schroeder's views that the ECB should think about varying eurozone interest rates given the euro's strong rise against the dollar.

French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin said Thursday he shared the German view that the European Central Bank should consider changing its key interest rate because the euro had risen strongly against the dollar.

Raffarin told an association of economic journalists
