IMF mission in Peru studying 2002 goals

PERU - A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is in Peru to evaluate the Andean nation's 2002 macroeconomic goals, the economy ministry said on Friday.

"The IMF (mission) has come to evaluate the goals established in the letter of intent. They will be here for two weeks," a ministry spokesman, requesting anonymity, told Reuters.

He added that the mission was working with Deputy Economy Minister Fernando Zavala and was due to meet with Economy Minister Javier Silva Ruete on Thursday.
