Report says single currency boosts trade

UK - The creation of the euro has boosted trade between eurozone countries significantly, according to new research, reinforcing the argument that the single currency has created a more genuine single market in Europe.

The UK Treasury last week identified the effect on trade as one of the most important issues in its assessment of the five economic tests for joining the euro, due to be published by next June.
