Arab Monetary Fund chief lauds Lebanon, Egypt

LEBANON - Lebanon and Egypt represent a role model for other Arab countries in fighting money laundering and terror finance, the Arab Monetary Fund chief said Monday.

Speaking at the 26th meeting of the Arab central bank governors here, Jasim Al Mannai said the fallouts of the September 11 attacks in the U.S. have compelled international and regional organisations to apply strict measures to combat money laundering, money that can be used to finance terror activities.
