Economic analysts dismiss threat of US 'deflation'

At its twice yearly meeting in Washington the Shadow Open Market Committee said deflation fears are unfounded and misguided.

The Shadow Open Market Committee, a group of mostly academic economists who monitor the policies of the U.S. central bank, has dismissed the threat of deflation, a damaging economy-wide drop in prices. The group is similarly unfazed by the fall in the dollar.
