Armenian central bank chief re-appointed

The Armenian parliament has endorsed the re-appointment of Tigran Sargsyan as chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Mediamax news agency reported on Wednesday 2 March.

Eighty-six MPs voted for and four against Tigran Sargsyan's candidature, Mediamax reported from parliament.

Sargsyan, who has headed the central bank since March 1998, will remain in the post for the next seven years.
