Charter capital requirements raised for new banks

RUSSIA - The Central Bank of Russia board decided on 26 June to increase the charter capital requirement for new banks.

The requirement was raised from 1 million euros to 5 million euros, Central Bank Chairman Viktor Geraschenko said at a press conference on 27 June.

This will not effect banks that are already in operation, he said.
