Central bank action removed liquidity threat: BoE

Senior Bank of England officials on Wednesday said liquidity tensions in global credit markets had diminished on the back of central banks' efforts.

Mervyn King, the governor of the Bank, said: "I think that in the area of liquidity we have moved to a better situation. You can see from the measures central banks have taken around the world, including our own Special Liquidity Scheme, conditions have been improved."
