Fed policymakers, US economic recovery on track

US - Two Federal Reserve policymakers on Monday agreed that the US economy was recovering gradually, although it has hit a few "bumps in the road".

The remarks indicated no urgency among central bankers to lower interest rates to help prop up a sluggish US economy.

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Cathy Minehan said the recovery will proceed at the slow pace for a while, "with a gradual pickup in capital spending and employment growth through the end of the year."
