Malaysian shares up ahead of c bank annual report

MALAYSIA - Malaysian shares closed up Wednesday ahead of the central bank's 2001 annual report release.

Traders said some investors, particularly retail investors, were expecting the central bank to provide more indications that the country's is on the right track to economic recovery.

Details on the central bank's annual report and a media briefing will only be released at 1000 GMT Wednesday (5 a.m. EST).
