Poland not seeking IMF support: Skrzypek

Slawomir Skrzypek, the governor of the National Bank of Poland, has confirmed that the country will not require International Monetary Fund (IMF) financing.

"I am convinced the situation in Poland does not require any extraordinary actions by the IMF," Skrzypek told Fakt, a newspaper, adding that there was no chance that the country might seek support for the Washington-based institution.

The governor's comments mark the latest attempt by the authorities in central and eastern European economies
