Argentina opens currency squabble

ARGENTINA - Argentine Economy Minister, Domingo Cavallo, has heightened economic tension in Latin America by accusing Brazilians of exacerbating the decline in the real.

Mr Cavallo has accused Brazil of pursuing a policy of devaluing the Argentine currency, which has lost 30% of its value against the dollar this year.

Brazil has rejected the accusation.

The most recent slump in the real's value followed the attacks on American targets on Tuesday, with share prices falling another 7% on Thursday
