IMF satisfied with Rwanda's economic progress

Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ended a three-day visit to Rwanda on Jan. 20, 2001, by commending the Government of National Unity for progress so far made in economic development and macroeconomic stability. "We are very satisfied with the progress being made in the economy and implementation of IMF programmes in Rwanda," the head of delegation Mr Yoshimura told a news conference in Kigali. He added, "The challenges remain great, particularly in tackling the poverty situation
