BoT rejects request on custody services

The Bank of Thailand said Thursday 4 January that it had rejected a request by the Custodian Club to delay implementation of a new securities investment account for foreigners by one month.

Suchart Sakkankosone, the central bank's director for the exchange control and credit department, said the deadline to establish the new account would still be Monday.

Mr Suchart told the Custodian Club on Thursday that a 300 million baht ceiling would also come into effect for both the SNS and NRBA starting
