Fukui sees continuity with Bernanke Fed

Bank of Japan governor Toshihiko Fukui said Thursday 16 March that Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke seems inclined to carry on the general policy direction of former Fed chief Alan Greenspan.

"I found that Chairman Bernanke ... has a very strong intention to basically continue the monetary policy stance under Greenspan that lifted interest rates to the current 4.5%," Fukui told a financial affairs committee of the Diet Upper House.
