Banks tackle RBA in new card twist

AUSTRALIA - The Australian Bankers' Association (ABA) says the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has hired a lobbyist to promote credit card reform.

ABA CEO, David Bell, says the RBA has made he move to advocate its views on reform to the media and government.

The RBA had requested submissions on proposed reforms to the Australian credit card system. The inclusion of non-banks in the system and the lowering of interchange fees have been recommended. Bell told a KPMG Australia and Australasian Ins
