New MPC member set for grilling

The newest member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee is likely to face some tough questions when he faces MPs for his "confirmation" hearing on Wednesday 24 May, the FT reported.

The Financial Times said that David Blanchflower's plan to become an MPC member while commuting from the US for up to two weeks a month has raised eyebrows from MPs, analysts, academics and even some within the Bank itself.
