Bomb threat at SARB

The South African Reserve Bank's head office received a telephoned bomb threat from an anonymous caller between 12 and 12.30 on Friday 17 September.

The building was evacuated according to normal procedure, the SARB said in a press release.

The national payment system's functions and the Bank's financial market operations were uninterrupted and the backup process was initiated immediately.

Police and emergency services were alerted immediately. They searched the building and declared it safe. S
