Taiwan to relax ban on Chinese currency import

Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has said travellers will not have to declare sums of 6,000 yuan or less which are brought into the country under new laws. Travellers are currently banned from bringing China's yuan currency into Taiwan.

Taiwan will let people bring in currency from its rival, China, once a new law governing ties with the mainland is implemented - which could be as soon as next year, officials said yesterday.
