Serbia seeks more IMF, EU aid

Serbia is in talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union (EU) to secure more emergency funding to bolster its reserve stockpile and limit the social impact of the crisis.

Serbia, which has already received a $520m loan from the Fund, is looking for an emergency aid package of between €1.5 billion ($1.9 billion) and €2 billion in order to stabilise the dinar. Serbia had $11.2 billion in dollar reserves and €8.7 billion in euro reserves as of the end of January.
