Embracing change, IMF looks for shareholder reform

IMF ANNUAL REPORT 2001 - The International Monetary Fund yesterday, 20 September, issued its annual report for 2001, highlighting its progress in implementing reforms and urging its members - particularly the advanced economies - to do the same.

Much of the economic analysis in the report dates back to 2000 or has been overtaken by recent events, particularly the impact on the U.S. economy of the terrorist attacks last week on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
