GCC central bankers to meet on monetary union

Central bankers in the six-member of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are set to meet in Saudi Arabia this Saturday, 19 March, on monetary union, the Arab News daily reported on Wednesday 16 March.

The two-day meeting will focus on efforts for financial convergence and legislative and institutional frameworks for monetary union, the paper quoted a GCC General Secretariat statement as saying.

The meeting will also discuss money laundering and review regional monetary and financial development.
