Sweden's Persson shifts euro-debate to politics

Swedish prime minister Goran Persson urged Swedes to vote yes to the euro in the 14 September referendum. Speaking on Sunday he said "The economic arguments are important, but the political arguments are decisive for me. We belong to the European community. I want Sweden to be part of the decisions."

The Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson is set to focus more on the political arguments for joining the euro in the six remaining weeks to the referendum.
