SNB sell 4.1 metric tons of gold in latest 10 days

SWITZERLAND - The Swiss National Bank sold 4.1 metric tons of gold in the latest 10-day reporting period ended March 28, the central bank's regular statistical report showed Tuesday.

The latest sales brought the total disposals to around 475.8 tons under its program begun in May 2000.

The SNB aims to sell a total of 1,300 tons of surplus gold under a five-year framework, the Washington Agreement, agreed among 15 European central banks in 1999.
